The DC3 left on a black beach in Iceland

The DC-3 that crashed in Iceland in 1973 is well known. Every tourist passing by the town of Vik has a stop to see the remains of the plane on the black beach. It was a bit of a hassle to get there with our minivan, but totally worth it! The plane crashed but the crew got out. The plane on the other hand hasn’t moved since 1973. Many parts have gone missing (sold by locals), but the main part is still there.

Let me know in the comments if you want to see a post of the non-aviation pictures made in Iceland.
